Tasting notes
Our Tex-Zin is big and bold with great fruit flavors and a medium to full-body mouthfeel. Our Double Barrel Aging technique adds spicy tones of peppercorn, and our Zinfandel grapes add flavors of blackberry and jam, giving this wine beautiful complexity and richness.
Zinfandel is the classic embodiment of American wine. Strong tannins add a bold taste that holds up to the saying that "everything is bigger in Texas." Our oak aging process through hybrid barrels, made of both French and American oak, influences the wine's intense, dark flavors, creating a unique mouthfeel. First farmed in the early 1980's at the now-retired Merrill's Vineyard in Halfway, Texas, Zinfandel has a deep-rooted history in the Texas High Plains.
